So it started out as a musing..."wouldn't it be cool if we had one of those airstream trailers?"
"oh ya mean one of those metal twinkie looking rv's from the 60's?
and several years later we are now rehabing our own 1966 Airstream Globetrotter and boy is it fun!
We searched around a bit online and in newspaper classifieds and settled on a cheap 17 footer that had certainly seen better days. But it was cheap (took up most of our measley savings) and road worthy.
Today we are mid-renovation. It has been gutted-we removed the former occupant's bedroom set up, seating area, water tank and bathroom set up- and have now moved on to a new subfloor and interior paint scheme.
Our plans are to add bedding/seating areas at the fore and aft and cabinets and side seating area.
What I would love to know is what other people have done with their airstreams and what makes them so irresistible?
