A long time ago I dated a guy whose family took two weeks each summer when he was growing up and they would load up the station wagon (this was in the 60's) and he and his two brothers and parents would drive hundreds of miles staying at KOA campgrounds all over the country.
My summers were spent a little differently-at an 8 week girls camp learning how to swim, canoe and all sorts of artsy stuff. I did not travel around much and we camped in NH in tents.
What I would love to know is have you or do you know anyone who has done family camping trips (tents or campers?). Did you have any traditional activities, foods you cooked, places you went to see?
Charlie and I are really looking forward to starting some "on the road" traditions with Sean even though our AS will be in Maine, we want Sean to experience lots and lots of scenic areas, natural landscapes and have lots of family traditions.
